Considered the first jointed body lure, patented by John Kreisser of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1907. Very little is known about these desireable lures, but here is some information that is helpful in identifying them.
K&K Numbering
#1 - sinking jointed minnow - 4 1/2" long
#2 - sinking jointed minnow - 3 1/2" long
#3 - near surface jointed minnow - 4 1/2" long
#4 - Wriggler -1 piece body (numbered #4A in early catalogs)
#5 - Minnoette - sinking jointed minnow - 3" long
#6 - near surface version of Minoette - 3" long
#7 - near surface jointed minnow - 3 1/2" long
#8 - solid minnow - "The Ghost" all white, "The Red Devil" red & silver
#9 - musky jointed minnow - 5 1/2" long
On early sinking baits the entire nose section is lead, on near surface the weight is near the hook. On later minnows the difference is the amount of weight near the hook - harder to tell.
