When we refinished our basement I finally had a place for the fishing tackle. (When watching TV, I only have the track lighting on.)
There are five lure displays along each wall. I used track lighting with halogen light bulbs to illuminate each display. I tried not to overly clutter the walls....
Dentist cabinet for storing fishing lures, and literature, etc.
A primative "bucket bench" for displaying some minnow buckets.
Old family trunk with Ice fishing box on top - great folk art painting. Covers up the wiring, etc for the sump pump behind trunk. (I also installed a battery backup pump.)
Couch is 7 ft long, great for falling asleep in.
TV is sitting in the cutout formed in the foundation for the fireplace in the room above. I added two simple shelves for electronics, fishing lures and books. (and kids games)
Lure displays are 24" x 18"x 3". Used peg board with burlap over cotton filler. Board and lures come out easily for changes, etc. I countersunk hangers in the frame, which slide
into screw heads in the wall.
Old shadow box with picture frame top. Lined the inside with black cordoroy fabric.
Here is a quick tour of my room and my approach to setting it up..
My dad found this old brass hat rack for hanging various items.
Antique bird catcher makes great display for hanging fishing lures.
