Ray Mehnert, Alliance Ohio

Ray Mehnert was possibly the most prolific of the Alliance makers. He worked for the railroad, then during his time off traveled thru Wisconsin, Minnisota, Michigan and New York to sell his lures. Karl Scott, his brother-in-law, made metal parts, dies, benders for him at the Alliance Machine Tool Co.

After WWII he patented one metal lure called the Huba Huba. Also made metal baits called Beat It Betty, Plastic Pat, & Crystal Katie.  No names are known for his wooden lures, however one lure has been found in a box with his name.
